From Tribal/Army Invasion to Operation Gibraltar to Operation Topac to Pak in a Limbo

A building that is founded on false foundation and covered by false roofing is not designed to survive the vagaries of weather; yes, such a building can be a toy to play with. Pakistan is such a building. A person with a lot of venom within is ultimately consumed by it; the Pak society embodies such person. A person who keeps blaming the whole world for his/her failures becomes irrelevant to it; Pak politicians embody such person.

False Foundation:

For Muhammad Ali Jinnah religion was the defining parameter of a Nation and civilization conveniently negating the facts of human civilization (anywhere in the world) that while religion(s) in a(the) region(s) did undergo transformations, the people in the region (the societies/communities) maintain a kind of continuity with their culture, language, belief systems and their interactive ways with the mother Nature; with change (volunteer / forced) in their religion their knowledge base, their science and technologies do not undergo any change because religion has nothing to do with what is secular and it cannot restrain its followers from engaging in such activities that are associated with mental faculties. Religion may at best advise its followers not to do any such act that ends up harming/ cheating/ defrauding people and thus depriving them of their genuine share in the available resources.

Mr. Jinnah’s definition of a Nation reduces human being to a one dimensional entity which is absurd, but then to achieve political ends irrational thoughts, if helpful in mobilizing the gullible, lead the way to final destination.

Too many Nations in Jinnah’s Pakistan:

When Pakistan was created, it had Jews Sikhs Hindus Christians Parsis etc as a population mix in an otherwise predominantly Muslim country. Yet, applying Mr. Jinnah’s definition of a Nation/Civilization there were as many Nations in Pakistan as the number of religious groups in it. So Mr Jinnah should have given all the non Muslim religious groups the status of a Nation and let them be as different sovereign states. Yet he designated them as minorities who were to be forcibly converted else persecuted and tortured to make them flee their ancestral lands.

Toy to play with:

The US has been playing with Pakistan to realize its geo political interests, in South and Central Asia as well as the regions covering the Eastern Europe, and designated it as “Americas Most allied ally in Asia”, but all this for a consideration of handsome US dollars. While Pakistan had the willingness to be a subordinate nation to the US, the Americans had the dollars to squander on their toy. The Americans established many bases in Pakistan in exchange for dollars. 

First base – PAF Camp Badaber - was in Peshawar and remained functional from July 17, 1959 until January 7, 1970 when it was closed. How the US and UAE toyed with Pakistan can be gauged from the following fact: a private airfield – Shamsi Airfield Baluchistan - leased by the Abu Dhabi Royal family for hunting trips to Pakistan, the UAE with the “consent” of Pakistan subleased it to the Central Intelligence Agency and United States Air Force on October 20, 2001, for conducting drone operations in Northwest Pakistan! This very act talks volumes about the sovereignty of Pakistan.

Likewise for facilitating war effort in Afghanistan, since 2002, there were four bases offered to the Americans, of them two were in Baluchistan- Dalbandin and Pasni – and one each PAF base in Jacobabad and Rawalpindi.

The contempt and mistrust the Americans had for their Pak counterparts was amply made evident from their secret operation in eliminating Al Qaeda Chief Osama bin Laden; Pakistani authorities and people were to know about it only through media reports.

The US toyed with Pakistan because the latter was willing to bend both ways for a few dollars more. Pakistan portrayed to join the US in their effort to oust the USSR from Afghanistan as also assist the Mujahedeen in their Jihad against the occupation forces. Pakistan in the process created her own Taliban (Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan) and supported mushroom growth of terrorist groups with a long time strategy to employ them against India. All this was facilitated because of dollars available from the US that entailed no accountability from Pakistan.

Post 9/11 the Pakistan collaborated with the US forces to hunt down the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan; the same Taliban that Pakistan had promoted and nurtured. The pull of dollars made Pakistan to hunt down their own baby and the inflow of dollars again gave lot of impetus to their support of terrorism in India.

In the present times in the changed geo political scenario wherein Quad has been formed for Indo Pacific and India has stood up to the expansionist designs of China making US, UK, Europe, Australia and Japan to rally behind India, for the US Pakistan is a worn out toy that can’t be played with. The US president is not even willing to talk to the Pakistan PM!  The Pak PM “Absolutely Not” thunderous roar turned out to be a damp squib as the US had never asked for any bases as they had sorted out their logistics in regard to Afghan Taliban, while they seemed to retreat in haste. The recent US bombings on Taliban forces have precluded any use the US may have for Pakistan; but then one can never say what ways the US may invent to once again use Pakistan to their ends as there is no dearth of dollars with US and Pakistan is ever willing to do anything for a few dollars more.  

The Venomous Society consumed by its own venom:  

"Islam is our goal. Quran is our constitution. Jihad is our path. War till victory, God is great. The war of Hizb is pronounced: Allah-u-Akbar. The call of Hizb is beware of India." President Zia Ul Haq address to the ISI in 1988 in which he was detailing three stages of operation Topac, by then two of the three stages had been more or less accomplished in the Kashmir Valley. This proclamation elaborated further on the geo political aims of Mr. Jinnah when he propounded a theory that religion is the basis of a Nation. It is not that tribal/Pakistan army raids in 1947 and the operation Gibraltar were not inspired by hatred doctrine, but only that Mr. Haq explicitly pronounced that doctrine. The reason for such a public outburst was Mr. Haq’s frustration in that despite Pakistan attempts in the past to weaken India she had only emerged stronger. The creation of Bangladesh turned out to be that proverbial last straw on the camel’s back.

Operation Topac transformed a Kashmiri Muslim in to a dreaded terrorist out to kill anybody/everybody in the name of Holy Jihad against the Kafir Indian State which, as per indoctrination doctrine, had held Muslims as captives in Kashmir Valley. Thus breeding of terrorists began in Pakistan as also in POJK and not only Kashmiri Muslims were indoctrinated to take to guns, arms & ammunition, but foreign nationals were also trained to be terrorists who were to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan and Indian State in the Kashmir Valley.

Spewing venom against India and motivated by the aim of destroying Kafir’s land, Pakistan was slowly but surely getting consumed by the poison that was being manufactured in their factories. It was too late before Pak administration and Establishment woke up to the reality that the terrorists had now turned against their mother country. So, operation Lal Masjid became a necessity and all the zealously protected sanctity of a Masjid was desecrated. The Establishment got busy fighting terrorism in their own land and Pakistan earned the special status of being a “terror sponsoring and terrorists breeding” nation as for any act of terrorism anywhere in the world its connection with Pak were getting established on a routine basis. Pak instead of putting a curb on her terrorists groups chose a narrative that she had been a victim of terrorism which did not cut any ice with any nation state except China, Turkey and North Korea.

 Their policy of breeding terrorists to bleed India under operation Topac has brought them to a state of affairs where the State is incapable of reigning in terrorist outfits and instead these organizations have begun to dictate foreign policy of Pakistan. These are ominous signs and tend to give an indication that the poison that it brewed for India is getting into its own veins.

 Failed State in a Limbo:

While India seems to have survived operation Topac and yet she needs to be vigilant against the two most hostile and unscrupulous neighbours, Pakistan for all her adventurism against India finds herself crippled socially, economically and politically. Intolerance for entire non Muslim population and various sects within Islam being at the throat of each other indicates total collapse of the norms of a civilized society; the debt ridden country facing a very low GDP growth rate combined with high inflation rate and ever rising prices indicates total collapse of economic regime and what adds to the misery is the news that the Establishment has embarked on a mortgage spree wherein motorways, waterways, highways, parks, islands, national bank etc all have been mortgaged to procure loans for meeting with day to day requirements. The latest in the news is that China wants Pakistan to lease out Gawadar port to it so that China can build a military base there; it seems that Pakistan has agreed to this proposal provided China takes the Pak liability of 100 billion dollars loan. If true, it is ominous for India. The political commentators are aghast at the unfolding of such events as could not have been imagined a few years ago.

 Politically the people’s voice and choice as expressed through the ballot box is being manipulated in the favour of the ruling party that claims to be on the same page with the Establishment. So, Establishment manipulates elections to strengthen the puppet regime it installed three years ago and this is not the first time as it is fait accompli in Pakistan that no political party can capture power without the consent of the Establishment and that it can remain in power only so long as the Establishment desires.

China who many times vetoed declaring Masood Azhar as terrorist is now facing terrorist attacks on its workers in CPEC. While such attacks have been occurring the routine response of Pakistan is to blame India for all the attacks. New theory propounded by Pakistan Establishment is that India and US are bent upon derailing CPEC project, whereas the slow or no progress in CPEC is corruption in Pakistan and no investments coming in from her.

There are multiple pulls within Pakistan that may tear her apart because rationale behind her existence has been decimation of India with Kashmir as the starting point and the entire narrative against India has been built on falsehoods; like, recently one political commentator in Pakistan stated that all religious minorities are facing persecution in India!! That Kashmiris are being persecuted 24x7x365 is a never ending narrative.

Zia Ul Haq who designed operation Topac to decimate India and then install Islamic rule was decimated by ISI and now Pak, courtesy efforts of Establishment, Moulvis and terror organisation heads, seems to be on the way to either decimation or becoming a colony of China.
