OIC Kashmir India & Pakistan: Lalit K Kaul
OIC Kashmir India
& Pakistan
Lalit K Kaul
The US President Joe Biden’s snub to
the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) and Pakistan PM, Sri Imran Khan, combined
with the growing threat of Islamic Republic of Iran (Shia Nation) to the Sunni
Muslim world set in motion redefining of relationships within and without the
Arab world that opened a window for the OIC to oblige Pakistan with its
statement on Kashmir. The OIC though comprising of many Muslim Nations yet the
KSA holds the key. The threat perception necessitated a show of unity among the
OIC members and its assertion was proclaimed by flogging the much beaten cow –
the Indian Kashmir, as they call it.
The Locus Standi:
The OIC has no locus standi insofar
as the much orchestrated issue (by Pakistan) of “Kashmir” is concerned. While
respecting the concept of Ummah and their expression of solidarity against non
Muslims (communities and Nation States), one cannot lose sight of the fact that
so long as there exists a Sovereign Nation State (Muslim or otherwise), no
other country has any kind of writ over it and this is the Axiom.
It is simply out of the world if not
incongruous to suggest that OIC would like to visit Kashmir and inspect the
extant conditions! OIC is well advised to look after its own populations and
try resolving the Shia Sunni conflict within their societies where the two
sects are continually at each other’s throats. Pakistan may first resolve the
Ahmedia Bohra “Shia Kafir Shia Kafir” conflicts as also try to become a
civilized nation by allowing her non Muslim populations to live a dignified
life; also resolve “yeh jo dehshatgardi hai iskae peechay wardi hai” and locate
missing people from Baluchistan etc. before shedding crocodile tears for
Kashmiri Muslims.
Pakistan has no claim on “Kashmir”:
The PM and FM including the Internal
Minister and their Moulvis and Mullahs are advised to revise a bit of history,
if at all they read it long time ago else, read it now. The problem of Pakistan
is manifold like, founded on flawed World View and thereafter locating its
roots in the Arab world. Pakistan has an existential problem in that its
founder was a Sufi Shia! Therefore in order to find legitimacy in the Muslim
world Pakistan tries to speak on the behalf of all the Muslims of the world,
except the Uyghur Muslims while it persecutes its own Shias Ahmedias and Bohras;
it’s a different thing that it dare not speak on behalf of Arabs because of the
inviolable bottom line “Arabs are Arabs and Muslims are Muslims”. There is this
non erasable dichotomy between the Arabs and Muslims, as defined by the Arabs.
The Crown Prince Sri MBS often uses that terminology: Arabs and Muslims.
Pakistanis and their political
leadership are advised to read Jinnah and his Lahore Declaration, 1940 as also
the agreement between the INC and IML based on which the INC agreed for
partition. From the documented history and not the one taught in Madrasas the
Pakistani people would know that Pakistan never had any legitimate claim over “Kashmir”.
“Kashmir” was never to be a part of Pakistan as conceived and agreed by Jinnah.
Their PM and the FM should know that “Kashmir” was never the bone of contention
between India and Pakistan. Pakistan created a situation whereby Hari Singh
signed the Instrument of Accession with India and thereafter having pushed back
the Pakistani marauders from a certain part of the erstwhile state of J&K
India took the case to the UN. Pakistan refused to comply with the UN
Resolutions, the rogue state that it is and over the years reduced the whole
problem to “Kashmir” problem in the hope of fooling the world, but ended up
ridiculing itself. The reason for this incongruity was (remains to be) that
Pakistan is a thorough bred communal state because it was founded on the
irrational World View of communalism.
The Breathing Space:
The PM of Pakistan has been afforded
a breathing space by the OIC insofar as his domestic politics is concerned as
he is being accused of having sold/given away Kashmir to India. So, Imran Khan
can once again roar as will his FM that India has been interrogated by the OIC
and Pakistan has successfully internationalized the “Kashmir” issue once again.
This rhetoric can go on and no country knows it better than Pakistan that these
kinds of political statements are not going to lead to the resolution of
imagined “Kashmir” issue. The problem here is that Pakistan has been riding “Kashmir”
tiger since her inception and she has been finding it difficult/ nigh
impossible to dismount, because the Madrasa educated people have been so
indoctrinated with the lies about “Indian Occupation of Kashmir” that in case
of a retreat the turbaned & bearded youth will go after the blood of
English educated Pakistani leaders and opinion makers. Hence “Kashmir” has to
be kept alive if Pakistan has to avoid civil war and survive as a nation state.
Indian Response:
India’s response to such weird statements
made from the international forums has been like a parrot parroting what it has
been taught by its master: “The statement is tantamount to interfering in our
internal matters”. This is as good as contemptuously disregarding the OIC in
one stroke. Indian leadership may engage Arab World in a very subtle way as
both the Arab & Indian states are keen on Geo-Economics as the entire
world, except Pakistan, is and therefore Geo-politics has taken a back seat.
The OIC has afforded Pakistan the
opportunity to live in her fool’s paradise, while the world moves on in which
Nation States seek more and more mutual cooperation in trade, security and
countering terrorism. In fact, the OIC has got rid of the Pakistan burden by making a statement it knows very well has no import and is inconsequential.
