KP & OTHERS: It’s "To Each His Own" Mr LG of J&K UT : Lalit k kaul
KP
& Others: It is “To Each His Own” Mr LG of J&K UT
Lalit K Kaul
And not “One Size Fits All” when it comes to killings in Kashmir,
Mr LG of J&K UT. While participating in Idea Exchange Program of Indian
Express on 25th December, 2022, Sri Manoj Sinha by stating that “others
too had been killed” and that “we must stop seeing these killings from
religious angle”, betrayed his total ignorance about the kind and level of
barbarism that was inflicted upon the KP Community by Kashmiri Muslim freedom
fighters (Tehreek e Azadi leaders) under the banner of their religion by
invoking Allah and professing to be in the “Way of Allah” and which led to the near
total exodus of the community from their place of birth, culture and heritage.
If his statements didn’t show up his ignorance then, for
sure, he was parroting His Master’s (Home Minister) Voice in a desperate
attempt to cover up the total failure of his Master’s much touted Kashmir
Policy.
The Killings: KP & Others
Both Muslims and Pandits were killed for different reasons.
Let there be no confusion on this. It is not the case of “One Size Fits All”,
but it is “To Each His Own”.
The Muslims were killed because they chose to wage a war
against India to “liberate” Kashmir from her and then decide whether to opt for
merger with Pakistan or remain independent. And, this was not done by sudden
rush of blood, but had behind it a meticulous planning of nearly two decades
and to which the “mainstream” political outfits had covertly contributed.
Prior to eruption of insurgency in late 80s, there were no
Muslims killed by Indian paramilitary forces or army. The army did its job on
borders and paramilitary forces were deployed in rarest of rare cases where
unrest was expected to go beyond control (like when the Holy Relic was found to
be missing from Hazratbal Dargah). Therefore, let nobody demonize Indian army
and security personnel.
No Nation State tolerates insurgency and therefore those
who dare its might only end up paying a heavy price by way of loss of lives. LTTE
of Sri Lanka is the example. Mr Manoj Sinha should know that Indian security
forces’ response to insurgency can only be elimination of insurgents and no
Nation State mourns at annihilation of their cadre. In addition to the
legitimate elimination of insurgents by state machinery, the local Muslims were
also eliminated by their own “Azadi” gang leaders who felt empowered by
shouldering AK 47 only to force into submission a common Muslim else, kill
him/her. They also took upon themselves as their duty to eliminate Kashmiri
Muslims working in local police and other paramilitary forces.
Those from amongst us who interacted with the “militants” and
their supporters know that the loss of lives on their side was considered to be
the supreme sacrifice (Sab Sae Aala Qurbaani) to be made for the “cause” and
killing of police and paramilitary personnel as their sacred duty for the
“cause”. It was very clear that loss of lives was not to be mourned at but to
be taken as a stimulus to join the “Tehreek e Azadi” in larger numbers for
realizing the object of freeing Kashmir from “Indian occupation”.
The KP community members were disfigured, raped and slaughtered
by the cadre and leadership of “Tehreek e Azadi” for two distinct reasons. One,
that the Pandit community was stamped as loyal to India and therefore patriots
and two, that in an Independent Islamic State of Kashmir, “Kafirs” had no place.
Knowing pretty well that 4 to 5 lacs could not be slaughtered in the “Way of
Allah”, the KP Community was - by announcements through mosques’ loud speakers;
posters pasted on the boundary walls of their houses and by directly
threatening them by gate crashing into their houses- offered two choices, 1)
convert to Islam and else 2) face death. Slogans like “We will make Pakistan with
KP women and without KP men” too rented the air. That was being in tune with “Held
by Right Hand” doctrine of their religion.
The seriousness of their threat was displayed by initiating
killings of publicly known KP men and kidnappings and rapes of KP women and
girls culminating into their murder. Thousands on streets in synchronism with
threat wielding loud speakers combined with targeted killings and kidnappings, rapes
followed by murders was all pre-planned to strike terror in the very psyche of
the KP Community that ensured their exile from their land of birth, culture and
heritage. All kidnappings, rapes and murders are documented by historians and
if Sri Manoj Sinha desires to get educated I am prepared to provide him with
references. The indiscriminate and purpose laden killings of KP community
members continued even after their mass exodus and extended up to until 2006.
Courtesy New “Kashmir Policy” the much-touted brainchild of
Home Minister, the targeted killings of KP community members started post 5th
August, 2019 reminiscent of 1988/89. That’s the success story of the “Kashmir
Policy” of “Loh Purush Incarnate 2”. In fact, when “Loh Purush Incarnate 2” was
asked about targeted killings, his nonchalant reply was “Killings have reduced
in numbers”! It is reminiscent of Sri V P Singh’s “ Who Pandits”!
Building Houses for KP Community:
This is ultimate display of desperation to sweep under the
carpet the symptoms of a failed policy. The rejection of the demand of the PM
package employees for relocation because their lives were under threat was
again a desperate attempt to assert that normalcy had been restored in the
Valley.
It’s understood that building 6000 houses will ensure large
sums of money changing hands in “Brashtachar Mukht Bharat” and keep politicians
and state machinery well oiled yet, why do it in the name KP community! Who is
going to occupy those pigeon holes in view of the experiences of the PM Package
employees? More than that, who gave the self proclaimed Desh Bakhts’ government
the right to decide on behalf of the KP Community that they would henceforth
live in segregated ghettos disjoint from the majority community only to be
easily identifiable for direct attacks on their honour, life and property? Or,
is it the thesis of “Loh Purush Incarnate 2” that the residents of those houses
shall not move out of their barricaded campuses and shall be confined to within
the walls for as long as they breathe in and breathe out.
The Trust Deficit:
The “Loh Purush Incarnate 2” and his parrot the LG of
J&K UT need to understand that there is a huge Trust deficit between the majority
community and the exiled ones and no political outfit has taken any initiative
on the ground to reduce the deficit and instead the public statements of local
politicians post 5th Aug 2019 have only widened that trust deficit
between the two communities. And, let no thekedar of “Bharat Mata” behave like
an ostrich when it comes to accepting the ground reality that the “terrorists”
have support of local “mainstream” politicians.
Even a less than an idiot will agree that target killings
are direct outcome of the “Kashmir Policy” post 5th Aug, 2019 and it
was publicly stated by Sri Farooq Abdullah not long ago. Sri Farooq Abdullah
certainly has his own political axes to grind and the likes of him excel in
stoking fires of communalism and anti-India emotions yet it’s beyond debate
that the BJP led government in Delhi has failed miserably in the war of
perception let loose by the “mainstream” post 5th Aug, 2019. And,
this is singular reason that makes transit of exiled ones back to their earlier
places of residence nigh impossible and their residing in New Zoo being built
under new “Kashmir Policy” makes them more culpable to the attacks of
religiously motivated gun wielding people classified as “terrorists”.
KP Community is not a Sacrificial Goat:
Just to tell the world that normalcy has been restored in
Kashmir, the KP Community cannot be made into a Sacrificial Goat by forcing
them to occupy the cages in the newly built zoos. No flag of any civilized
Nation can be hoisted on the corpses of her own nationals.
And no civilized Nation puts the annihilator and the
annihilated one on the same footing.
The “Bharat Mata Kae Sapoot” government has earned lot many
political brownie points by masquerading in the Parliament as the sole and
whole well wishers of KP Community during the debate on Kashmir Files; while
their record on ground is diametrically opposite to their claims in the
Parliament. The visual (electronic) media too increased their TRP by conducting
debates on Kashmir Files. That the Indian society is too polarized was evident
from the fact that while one swore by Kashmir Files the other called it a concocted
fiction. Both sides of the divide ended up rubbing salt into the wounds of the
KP Community. The comic tragedy of “Bharat Mata” is that it took screening of
Kashmir Files (after 32 years of genocide) for her children to know that the
aboriginals of Kashmir had been hounded out of it 32 years ago!
While it may be politically expedient for the LG of J&K
UT, under constant supervision of his Master, to classify those who committed
genocide of KP Community as equal victims of it; yet civilized behaviour
demands that genocide of patriotic people not be compared with eliminating
insurgents and their supporters.
The best favour the “Bharat Mata Kae Sapoot” government can
do to the Exiled KP Community is to leave them free to take their own decisions
in their instinct to survive the most adverse and hostile conditions since late
14th century CE. Else, grant them their Homeland like Uttrakhand, Jharkhand,
Chattisgarh and Telengana were created meeting with the demands of a cross
section of people in their erstwhile states. If Indian Subcontinent could be
partitioned on religious grounds, why not Kashmir? If Muslims in India demanded
a pious place for them because they didn’t want to be ruled by “Kafirs” and
were granted so and it need be mentioned here that Sardar Patel was a party to
that decision; why a pious place for KP Community can’t be granted because they
too don’t want to be a part of the State with “Believers” majority! It needs a lot of
political courage and conviction to debate with the exiled KP Community on
their demand of Homeland and much easier to thrust solutions on them even at
the cost of making them into a scapegoat.
Therefore, the easiest thing for politically bankrupt class
of rulers to do is to let the KP Community take its own decisions and spare
them the humiliations of putting their persecutors (religiously &
politically motivated) on the same footing as them.
