If, since independence, any community has been bringing laurels to our country it's sports person community. Yet this community was never accorded a place it deserves in Indian Nation.  And, if any community that has brought shame to Indian Nation, it's her politicians.

The contribution of sports person community is that it wins medals for our country and proudly hoist Indian Tricolour from the podium- be it the Asian Games, the Olympics and the World Championships. Yet, they are lost into the oblivion having gone past their prime. The classic example is that of Sri Pan Singh Tomar who was an athlete serving army and was a hero of Asian games. Post retirement, he returned to his village only to find out that the land mafia had taken ownership of his ancestral agriculture fields. He moved from pillar to post, but to no avail. To avenge the injustice done to him by Thakurs who were well supported by the government, he chose to take up arms. He was labeled as dacoit and gunned down!!

The contribution of politicians is that most of them come from a criminal background; incite communal passions and indulge in corruption of incredible proportions that include money laundering; transfer of ill-gotten wealth into foreign banks; promoting coal and sand mafia and looting the resources of our country to pocket commissions, etcetera. Yet they masquerade as Netas well protected by police and other security personnel.

The bottom line of Indian political system is that a Don shall be patronized if he/she can fetch votes and so one finds the notorious criminals fighting elections while being in jail and winning on a party ticket.

The wrestlers are agitating against the chief of WFI, but the "Don" of UP is roaming free despite two FIRs filed against him at the instance of SC of India. Had the court not intervened there wouldn't have been any FIRs lodged against him. The Khaps and the farmers from Haryana have threatened to join the movement.  The media says it's a conspiracy!

The politics of it all is: whether the Parliament seats from Haryana can be sacrificed for those in UP. Yes indeed Haryana and the wrestlers  can be sacrificed for 80 parliamentary seats of UP, insofar as 2024 Lok Sabha elections are concerned. Therefore the "vote getters" have to be above Law of the Land, even while one hears screams like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" (BMKJ), "Vande Matram" (VM) and "Jai Sri Ram” (JSR).

Same was sought to be scripted in Punjab. Capt. Amrinder Singh dangled a carrot and the Agri Laws were withdrawn in such a hurry that the well laid out procedure for withdrawal of a law was not followed and thus the Parliament  was undermined. Yet, the screams soared BMKJ VM JSR.

The Farmers were allowed to lay a siege on the Capital city, and it would have continued but for the fear of losing Jat votes in Western UP and therefore Agri Laws were withdrawn.

The Shaheen Bagh was allowed to be because Delhi elections were round the corner and Corona came to the rescue of Delhi people.

Punjab shall be allowed to simmer and God forbid burn only with a hope that chaos in Punjab will help BJP win power in next elections. Manipur has already been set on fire- courtesy the anti-India forces and indifferent Home Ministry.

The icing on the Cake is that the Home Minister is also master election strategist of the BJP and that's is indisputably a situation - Clash of interests.

The incongruity of those screams is that while the BJP neta screams "Bharat Mata Ki", the gullible scream "Jai". The Neta never says Jai, thus keeping options open; similarly for Vande Matram.
