When will Pakistan Cease to Exist?
Lalit K Kaul
Anything that's born must
die. Anything that has a beginning has an end. Pakistan was born from the womb
of Mother India through the process of bloody cesarean. It has aged and
therefore must die. Who will decide Pakistan's exit time from the world map?
One and the only one- the Yamraj- the United States of America. Let us see why
and how of it.
The Handicap of Pakistan by
Birth:
It
was the very ideology that gave birth to Pakistan and that was Jinnah Doctrine
that Religion defines a Race, a Nation; its Culture and Civilization. It's
history of existence is witness to how uncivilized a Nation it has been. Since
a religion defined everything about a human being existence then anyone outside
of that religion was to be either annihilated or forcibly converted. That kind
of barbarism is still going on and is/has been consuming all the energies-
mental and physical- of that religion's followers. What Jinnah failed to
recognize is that within a religion there existed various sects and the
predominant one was going to annihilate the others and therefore that was going
to define Pakistan's culture. Once a people's culture becomes barbaric it only
ends up devouring a Nation and that's what is the reality that stares at
Pakistan today. What's singular to Pakistani culture is that it breeds and
nurtures hatred towards all other religious groups which don't follow a
particular dominant sect in Jinnah's religion.
The
Contradictions within & Achievements of Pakistan:
Since
a religion was to define everything about a human being, how, possibly, could
Pakistan be a democratic country governed by a Parliamentary democracy? No way!
Therefore, one comes across an ostensible democratic dispensation but which
essentially is run by a despot in uniform. Consensus? Yes, indeed. But
consensus not arrived at by the people's representatives, but by the
“Establishment".
So, while the doctrine of “India Dushman
Desh" was the natural outcome of Jinnah Doctrine, it was zealously kept
alive by the politician-establishment combine only to devour all the available
resources in Pakistan. Yet, to keep this doctrine alive in public domain, the
politician-establishment combine waged four wars on India and also proxy wars
by supporting and encouraging terrorism in Punjab and J & K; this proxy war
is ON because a religion decides everything.
Pakistan's
politico-military leadership chose to become hand-maidens of the US in return
for billions of dollars that weren't going to be used for any growth,
development and welfare schemes, but for filling up the coffers of politician-establishment
combine and to balkanize “Dushman Mulk” by promoting terrorism. How would the
Americans dollars come in?
By
providing bases to the US in Pakistan; by joining hands with the US to
ostensibly fight the erstwhile USSR occupation of Afghanistan, but in realty to
create the Taliban out of the hapless Afghan refugees and to develop a vast
network of terror groups, inspired by that religion which inspired Jinnah, to implement
“Thousand Cuts" doctrine.
According
to Jinnah a religion defined everything about a human being, but his doctrine
achieved a step higher in that it ended up with defining the human being
itself. So, this Jinnah's human being did a complete U-turn post 9/11 event. The
politician-establishment combine which had raised Taliban and facilitated their
takeover of Afghanistan in 1996, now decided to fight the Taliban in
Afghanistan in return for billions of American dollars! That was declared as
“war on terror" by the US and imagine a terrorist breeding country joining
this “war on terror”! In exchange of dollars, innocent Afghan refugees were
handed over to the US military in the name of Taliban and whereas all through more
than 20 years Pakistan's politico-military leadership sustained the Taliban in
Afghanistan and Pakistan and thus bleeding the US and ensuring the return of
the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The
US understood this double game of Pakistan and started not only distancing
itself from it, but also left billions of dollars’ worth of defense equipment
in Afghanistan- the kind which Pakistan can't afford to have even in her
dreams.
While
the politician-establishment combine was rejoicing and taking credit for
Taliban take over in Afghanistan, the Afghan Taliban had things in mind that
were to be antagonistic to Pakistan because the Taliban too had understood the
double game which the combine had played against them.
The
beginning of the end of Pakistan got huge momentum from then onwards because
the US and Taliban seemed to have joined hands as both felt cheated by
Pakistan.
China
US Afghanistan Pakistan and KPK:
Afghanistan
never recognized the Durand Line, no matter who the ruler was. This line had
divided the Pasthun population and that was never agreeable to an Afghan. The way
Pakistan had made innocent Afghans a sacrificial goat to satiate the hunger of the
US, has deeply hurt both the Taliban and Afghans. The TTP, a baby of Pakistan,
which is mostly based in KPK and adjoining areas is leading a war against the Pakistani
State & the Afghan Taliban is doing nothing to rein in the TTP despite
protests by Pakistan. Even the US has not been found giving any statements at
any level in the White House in favour of Pakistan. The US Ambassador has been roaming
around freely in Pakistan and meeting with different people has not cared to
make statement on Afghan Taliban’s unwillingness to rein in TTP and shirking
its responsibility by terming the TTP attacks as internal matter of Pakistan.
Why is the US silent?
The
US cannot countenance growing influence of China in Afghanistan and will deploy
all possible means to thwart China's advances in the region. Nobody knows what transpired
at Doha which led to ostensibly “inglorious” exit of the US from Afghanistan. The
US wants to have a hold in Afghanistan for geo-political reasons and it can
succeed only if Taliban allows it. The bargain the Taliban could settle for is that
the US remains neutral in Afghanistan's quest to annex KPK and FATA and also
provides an alternative to China's economic initiatives in there. The US is
known to sacrifice anyone, anything, anybody and any nation for the sake of its
geo-political and geo-economic interests. The US does not view Pakistan as a
reliable partner anymore and would prefer Afghanistan over it. Pakistan having
antagonized both, the possibility is real that the two may come together to annex
KPK and FATA in which the US plays a covert role. What role India will play
keeping in mind its relationship with Afghan Taliban, the US and Pakistan; only
time shall tell. In my opinion India may not remain neutral because geo-politically
and geo-economically Afghanistan is more important to India than it is to the
US.
Balochistan
and Sindh:
The
politician-establishment combine is known to have treated and are treating
Balochistan and Sindh as colonies of Punjabi Muslim elite. Same is true for the
POK and GB. This sustained exploitation of these regions that has left the people
in abject poverty and deprived of basic amenities is the cause for unrest in
these regions.
Balochs
have taken the war into the camp of “establishment”. The “Hafiz e Quran" seems
to have no answer for rising attacks of BLA and BLA-TTP combine on mosques and
police and army convoys. The attacks on mosques tell a sordid tale on Jinnah's
Doctrine. To show their potency, the “Hafiz e Quran" is getting innocent
Balochs and Afghans arrested! The Baloch and Sindhi Human Rights activists have
been active since decades, but in the recent UNGA session both put their case
very effectively backed with well researched statistics on the barbarism of the
Pakistani State being inflicted on them since the very inception of Pakistan.
The
US Ambassador to Pakistan recently visited Gawadar and it is believed that
Pakistani authorities were more than willing to give all the sought
information. While Pakistani may be desperate to be once again in the good
books of the US, the Q is: why was the Ambassador seeking all the information? He
is known to have met Baloch people too. If the US must take charge of Gawadar
then Balochistan must cede from Pakistan; given that the Balochs have no love
lost for China and may seek assistance from the US in their independence
movement against Pakistan. How the US
will play next move, only the time shall reveal, but the fact that the “establishment”
is unable to get things under control, any outside support would be like petrol
in already lit fire.
The
US China and Afghanistan:
Looks
like that the role of the US in Balochistan may depend upon success story of
the US-Afghan relationship. If the Taliban and the US come to agree on KPK and
FATA being a part of Afghanistan; Balochistan would be the next in line. The US
just need to look the other way if and when Afghanistan overtly initiates annexation
of KPK and FATA. Right time is now as Jinnah's Doctrine has succeeded in
creating a Failed State- politically, economically and socially and that's why
China, KSA, Qatar and UAE are looking at Pakistan as a burden which, in due
time, they must stop carrying on their shoulders.
Will
China look the other way if 1) Afghan leadership promises it some stake
alongside of the US as far as getting hold of resources in Afghanistan is
concerned only if to bring Afghanistan out of its stagnated economy and 2)
promises China on maintaining silence on Uyghur Muslims and not yielding any
ground to East Turkmenistan activists against it?
If there are no permanent friends and foes in geo-politics
then the above scenario is quite probable. In any case China seems to have
given up on CPEC because of Pakistan's failure to contribute financially and failure
to ensure security of Chinese built infrastructure and the people of Chinese
origin associated with it.
India's
Role:
Wherever
there is a terrorist attack in the world its roots are traced to Pakistan.
India having suffered her mentally sick neighbour for 75 years need to lobby
harder in the diplomatic circles worldwide that this menace of terrorism will
cease to be if only Pakistan disintegrates and ceases to exist. Because funding
of terror factories in Pakistan is done by investing a % of loot from
Balochistan, Sindh, POK and GB. The Punjab part is parasitical and like a pest
that has been sucking the blood of Balochistan, Sindh, POK and GB. Therefore,
if the arteries that are lifeline of terror factories in Pakistan are cut open
from them, the whole network of terrorism will collapse. Therefore, the UN and
the developed world need to pay heed to the sufferings of Baloch, Sindhis,
Pashtuns and residents of POK and GB and recognize all of them as separate
Nations based on their ethnicity, culture and language.
India’s
neighbourhood has one rogue state and another mentally sick state. India need
to do something drastic diplomatically in order to isolate one and decimate the
other.
